You are not imagining it

Most women spend years being told it is just stress.

Perimenopause is barely covered in general medical training. Symptoms get put down to work, parenting or getting older, and the pattern goes unnoticed — often for years. Arriving with a clear record of what is happening changes that conversation.

Why we exist

Perimenopause gets limited coverage in general medical training. Symptoms get attributed to stress, work, parenting or ageing, and the pattern goes unrecognised — often for years.

Women describe finally understanding what was happening only after reading a list of symptoms and realising most of it applied to them. By then they have frequently seen several doctors and been told, in various ways, that they are fine.

We built this around two things. First, information good enough to rely on, written for an Australian reader and reviewed by a doctor. Second, appointments long enough to actually get somewhere, with GPs who work in this area constantly rather than occasionally.

The symptom check is free and stands on its own. Take the summary to us, or take it to your own GP. Either is a good outcome.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What happens in the first consultation?

A long video appointment with a menopause-trained GP. They take your full history, go through your symptoms and how they are affecting you, discuss what might be going on, and work out a plan with you. You are not rushed through in ten minutes.

Will I need a referral?

No. Menopause care is managed in general practice and no referral is needed — for us or for your own GP.

Who will I be seeing?

Australian GPs with additional training in menopause care, each holding current AHPRA registration. We will publish their registration numbers so you can verify them yourself on the public register. We are engaging doctors now and will let you know when appointments open.

Can the symptom check replace seeing a doctor?

No. It is an educational tool that helps you prepare for an appointment — it does not assess you, and no treatment decision can be made from it. Australian telehealth rules require a real-time consultation with a doctor, which is exactly as it should be.

What if I already have a GP I like?

Then use the symptom check, take the summary to them, and keep your care where it is. The check is free and useful whether or not you ever book with us.

Is this covered by Medicare?

Medicare rebates may apply to some consultations depending on your circumstances and whether you have an existing relationship with the practice. Our pricing page sets out what to expect.
